Lovely 17th Century Oak Chest of Drawers of Small Proportions

This is a fine quality antique English William & Mary oak geometric moulded chest of drawers, with stunning colour and small proportions, in good condition. two-plank moulded top, above three drawers. The drawer fronts are decorated with mitred geometric moulded panels, Each drawer features a different design. The drawers incorporate old replacement brass ring handles, circular brass back plates and oval key escutcheons. The drawers feature working locks and there is a working key. The drawers are front to back oak lined and are constructed with primitive hand dovetail joints. The chest features solid inset panel sides, along with the original backboards. Standing on an elegant moulded frieze and raised on the original bracket feet. The frame of the chest has been built using the traditional peg construction method.
